Order this productCeramic vinyl tile combines a sintered ceramic surface layer with a flexible vinyl backing, producing a floor covering that balances hardness with resilience.
The ceramic component provides abrasion resistance comparable to traditional glazed tile, while the vinyl layer accommodates minor substrate movement and reduces impact noise.
Typical overall thickness ranges from 3 mm to 5 mm, with a wear layer of 0.25 mm to 0.4 mm that protects the printed design.
| Property | Typical Value | Unit | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overall thickness | 3 – 5 | mm | Depends on product line |
| Wear layer thickness | 0.25 – 0.4 | mm | Protects decorative film |
| Water absorption | ≤0.08 | % | ASTM C373 equivalent |
| Dimensional stability (length change) | ±0.1 | % | After 24 h immersion |
| Slip resistance (R value) | ≥0.5 | µ | Wet pendulum test |
| Coefficient of thermal expansion | ≈5×10⁻⁵ | /°C | Similar to PVC |
| Fire rating | Class Bfl‑s1 | — | EN 13501‑1 |

Production begins with blending PVC resin, plasticizers, and stabilizers to form the vinyl sheet, which is calendared to the required thickness.
A pre‑formed ceramic veneer, created by pressing and firing alumina‑silicate powders, is laminated onto the vinyl sheet under heat and pressure to achieve a permanent bond.
The composite is then cooled, cut to size, and surface‑treated with a UV‑cured protective coating.
Compared with monolithic ceramic tile, the vinyl backing lowers the modulus of elasticity, reducing crack propagation under point loads.
Compared with homogeneous vinyl flooring, the ceramic surface raises the Taber abrasion index by approximately 40 %, extending service life in high‑traffic zones.
In‑line thickness gauges monitor each board, rejecting any piece deviating more than ±0.1 mm from target.
Finished tiles undergo a Taber abrasion test (CS‑10 wheel, 500 g load) and a static coefficient of friction measurement; only batches meeting ≥0.5 µ and ≤0.08 % water absorption are released.
Tiles are stacked in corrugated cartons with interleaving polyethylene sheets to prevent surface abrasion.
Cartons are strapped onto pallets and stretch‑wrapped, providing protection against moisture and impact during overseas shipment.
