Order this productLuxury vinyl tile (LVT) with a wood‑look surface combines a printed décor layer, a clear wear layer, a rigid or flexible core, and a balancing backing. The construction determines how the product resists abrasion, indentation, and moisture while replicating the visual texture of natural timber.
The wear layer is typically a polyurethane‑reinforced film ranging from 0.3 mm to 0.7 mm thick, providing scratch resistance measured by the Taber abrasion test. Beneath it, a high‑resolution photographic film reproduces wood grain, knots, and color variation. The core may be either a solid PVC‑based compound or a wood‑plastic composite (WPC) that adds dimensional stability and reduces thermal expansion. A backing layer of PVC or cork balances the assembly and aids in acoustic performance.
Standard plank dimensions range from 100 mm to 228 mm in width and 900 mm to 1800 mm in length, with overall thicknesses between 4 mm and 8 mm. The product exhibits a coefficient of linear expansion below 0.02 mm/m·°C, which minimizes gapping under temperature fluctuations. Slip resistance (R10 or R11 according to DIN 51130) is achieved through surface embossing or additives in the wear layer.
In warehouses, the tile’s resistance to point loads from pallet jacks and its low maintenance requirements reduce downtime compared to sealed concrete. In healthcare facilities, the non‑porous surface limits microbial growth and allows for easy disinfection with standard agents. Retail environments benefit from the product’s acoustic damping, which lowers footfall noise in open‑plan layouts.
Buyers can specify plank width, length, and thickness to match existing flooring modules or to achieve a particular visual scale. Edge profiles include square, beveled, or micro‑beveled finishes, affecting both appearance and installation tolerances. The décor film can be altered to reproduce specific wood species, stain grades, or distressed patterns, while the wear layer thickness can be increased for high‑traffic zones.
Production follows ISO 9001‑based process controls, with in‑line monitoring of thickness, wear layer adhesion, and color consistency. Finished lots undergo ASTM F1700 classification testing for wear, stain, and chemical resistance, as well as EN 13329 testing for impact resistance and dimensional stability. Test reports are available upon request and reference the specific batch number.
