Order this productThis page describes the technical characteristics of woven tapestry wall coverings produced in China, focusing on material composition, dimensional tolerances, performance properties, and options available for industrial procurement.
The face layer consists of a blend of polyester (60 %), cotton (30 %), and acrylic (10 %) yarns, providing a balance of tensile strength, soft hand feel, and resistance to UV fading. A non‑woven polypropylene backing is laminated to the rear to enhance dimensional stability and facilitate adhesion to substrates.
Standard roll width is 1.35 m with a tolerance of ±2 mm. Lengths are supplied in 30 m or 50 m rolls; thickness averages 0.45 mm (±0.03 mm) and weight is approximately 260 g/m² (±15 g/m²). Custom widths up to 2.0 m are available upon request.
| Property | Typical Value | Test Method |
|---|---|---|
| Tensile Strength (warp) | ≥ 25 N/mm | ISO 13937‑2 |
| Tensile Strength (weft) | ≥ 22 N/mm | ISO 13937‑2 |
| Abrasion Resistance (Martindale) | ≥ 30 000 cycles | ISO 12947‑2 |
| Flame Retardancy | B‑s2, d0 (EN 13501‑1) | EN 13501‑1 |
| VOC Emission | < 0.5 mg/m³ | ISO 16000‑9 |

In manufacturing facilities, tapestry wall coverings reduce reverberation time by absorbing mid‑frequency sound, improving speech intelligibility in control rooms. Their surface resists occasional splashes of oil‑based coolants due to the hydrophobic polyester component, and the backing provides resistance to mold growth in humid zones.
Each production lot undergoes incoming yarn inspection for count and tensile, in‑process width monitoring via laser sensors, and final roll evaluation for weight, thickness, and visual defect density (< 2 defects/100 m²). Flame retardancy is verified on a sample from every batch using the EN 13501‑1 vertical flame test.
Rolls are wrapped in low‑density polyethylene film, placed on corrugated cardboard cores, and stacked on pallets with corner protectors. A typical 20‑ft container holds up to 25 rolls of 1.35 m × 50 m, secured with strapping and stretch wrap to prevent shifting during transit.
